About Tom
Tom Waddington, a Yorkshireman in Switzerland, isn’t just a top-tier ski instructor—he’s also a seasoned sailor. With over 400 hours of sea training, including multi-day expeditions, he’s well-prepared for his next challenge: the Mid Atlantic crossing.
Following the tragic loss of his girlfriend, Hatty Harrison, in 2020, Tom found solace and purpose in pushing his boundaries, recognizing the importance of mental health and personal growth. His journey serves as a testament to resilience and the healing power of adventure.

In June 2024, Tom Waddington is heading out on a truly inspirational and record breaking endeavour. To become the fastest man in history to row from Canada to the UK across the North Atlantic Ocean.
The Charity Mind
Support
Tom is passionate about raising £50,000 over the course of his row, for the charity Mind, a charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. With a mission to not give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.
