Your role at VW&S

As our Business Process Consultant, your job is to help our clients work smarter, faster, and better. You work on external projects, optimising workflows and systems. You lead small projects independently, guided by our Strategy & Operations Consultant. In addition, you work on improving our internal organisation and strengthening our services. 

Most of the time, you’re working at the client’s office (on site or from home). Besides, you often drop by our workplace in the heart of Amsterdam. Here, we gather to exchange views, work together on projects or just have a good time!

Here’s what you’ll do

• Advise our clients – You advise clients on how to operate more effectively. You identify problems and obstacles, informing them on what works and what doesn’t. Next, you craft fitting solutions to optimise the process. You listen carefully to the client’s needs and wants, providing excellent service. You make sure the solution is a perfect fit for the client’s unique situation and business identity.
• Boost project quality – You complete tasks independently and in a timely manner. You proactively ask for feedback to make sure you’re on the right track. With your generalist eye, you’re always looking for ways to improve—without losing the pace of the project
• Improve our organisation – You work on strengthening our internal organisation, improving our workflows and services. Always on the look-out for new opportunities, you monitor the evolving landscape in- and outside of VW&S. You create new insights and share your findings with others, continuously improving the way we work.
• Keep learning – While our organisation is rapidly evolving, so is the market. You keep close track of new trends and developments—inside, outside, and with our clients. You enjoy exploring how these affect our organisation and services, anticipating the opportunities and challenges they may bring.

Other things you should know

• You’re free to choose whether you want to work part-time or full-time (28-36 hours/week).

We’re looking for you if …

• You have at least 2 years of work experience as a consultant, specifically in the field of change management and process improvement. 
• You’ve completed an HBO or WO bachelor’s degree in business administration, management and organisational science, or a similar field dealing with business structures and process optimization.

Your skill set

• You have great business sense, with a general understanding of how our organisation works. In addition, you know how to quickly gain insight into the client’s operations and processes.
• You’re a great communicator. You speak the language of the people and know how to deliver a message. 
• After considering all relevant information, you quickly turn words into action, ensuring long-term effectiveness.
• You’re sensitive to organisational cultures and politics and know how to navigate them in a diplomatic way.
• You enjoy taking initiative and are passionate about what you do.
• You attend to the wishes and needs of the client, without losing sight of the end result.
• And last but not least—you’re a great team player and enjoy having fun!

Great to have, but not necessary

• You know how to work with the working methods Lean, Six Sigma or Agile.
